Its been a long time in the making, but our road going forwarder trailer is now earning its living extracting timber from the woods. It took us a long time to get everything right for the IVA test which a new trailer must have in order to be road legal. Now, we have everything worked out and we can take orders for more trailers. We will be building a webpage in the next week with more information and prices. If you are interested, drop us a line with your requirements We have a brand new version of our popular log lifter. We have had a major redesign to incorporate features which our customers asked for. There is a 2 position gripping arm which allows you to lift and roll larger logs than before. The foot plate is larger and ergonomically better designed. There is a comfy heat shrinked plastic handle for extra operator comfort, and the lifting foot is removable making it handier to use if you just want to roll and move logs. We should have them in stock within 3 weeks.
We are nearing completion of our first road going timber trailer. We are very excited about this new product, it is a 3500kg gross trailer which will be fully IVA tested, it has a 3.4 metre reach crane complete with petrol powerpack. It has fully guarded lights, a belly plate protecting the brake cables and large wheels for ground clearance. We believe we have designed this to stand up to the rigours of working in the woods and also be fully road legal. This one is also having a flat bed which drops into the bolster sockets for delivering 1t bags of logs. If you would like something similar, drop us a line and we can work something out Here's a picture a customer sent us this week of a wide wheel brash cart at work in the woods. He is using it mostly to shift short lengths of timber around the woods for further processing.
Before Xmas, we made a Mini Timber Trailer for P Hughes and Co in North Wales, and they asked for a handle to use it by hand. We made them a 2 foot wide handle so that two people can comfortably pull it, and here is its first day at work. Its already paid for itself in 1 day !
If you have any modifications or idea to make our product range suit your requirements a bit better, then just let us know. We have a busy January and February ahead of us. We have just finished a 3t trailer with a crane for a customer which is going out this week. These cranes are setup for 3 point linkage use, and we have mounted it so that you can remove it with 3 bolts and use it on the tractor, really handy for the yard or feeding a processor.
We also have finally got the go ahead to build a high speed tow timber trailer with crane for use behind a regular 4x4 on the road. We have been itching to do this project for ages, there is a lot of stuff to get right, and we have to take it for an IVA test at the end to ensure roadworthiness. Watch this space in the next few weeks for more info Heres some pics of another trailer hard at work. You dont see so many of these trikes around any more, brings back memories of rounding up the sheep when I was a kid. Many times ended up on its side with me lying in the ditch ! Good old workhorses though
P Hughes and Co in North Wales had one of the first sets of log lifting tongs from us, and here is a pic showing them still hard at work. They get used daily loading and unloading timber from their truck.
Heres another ATV Timber Trailer we delivered last week ready for work. This customer wanted a headboard mounted winch for hunting so he can load deer. He wanted one of our SawMate saw store large boxes to keep his saws, fuel can and tools handy and safe, and he also had a swivel hitch and mesh tailgate. This is a really nice trailer and its good to see it ready for work
